States and Union territories with highest and lowest voter turnout in Lok Sabha elections 2014

The 16 th Lok Sabha elections held in 2014 was the largest ever election in the world with an increase of 100 million voters. In 2014 Lok Sabha polls there were around 23.1 million voters aged 18-19 years. The average voting percentage in 2014 Lok Sabha elections was around 66.38% which was highest in the history of Indian general elections. In 2014 Lok Sabha elections voter turnout was highest but it was still very low as still many people in the country did not vote.

IF YOU DON’T VOTE YOU LOSE THE RIGHT TO COMPLAIN

If we look at the voting percentage of different states and union territories Nagaland tops the list with highest voting percentage of 87.9% followed by Lakshadweep with 86.6% and Tripura with 84.9% voting. It should be noted that Eastern states of India have good voting percentage compared to other states of India. If we talk about Literacy rate Kerala tops the list but if we talk about Kerala’s voting percentage it is 73.5% making it 17th in the list of voting percentage of different states and Union territories.
